The day in YELLOW

well, yellow-ish green...I have recently picked up playing tennis in a league- through southernflexleague.com which is a branch of USTA. Atlanta is great for tennis playing- having both USTA and ALTA available. This Flex League seems like it will be a great match *no pun intended* for what I need- no set play time or location and its singles :) now, if I could win here or there it would be fabulous, but for now I'll just settle for playing at least once a week. SOOO...last week when I was playing I broke a string, fortunately I had a back-up racquet. I took the broken one to DeKalb Tennis Center- when I went to pick it up today I met a guy who want to play on Wednesday- maybe this guy will not be too hungover to play *cough*Sheldon*cough* I've also tentatively decided it is time for a new racquet- the guy at DTC said Sandy Springs has a good selection- I'll keep you posted *damn the puns!* on how that goes...I could talk for hours about tennis and how much I enjoy it- but I will stop and save it for another day.

The other yellow part of my day was actually yesterday, but I was still discussing it today- so I think it counts...

That is all- we'll see what colors tomorrow brings...

The Color Yellow

Today is brought to you by the color yellow- and a few of its derivatives. We'll start with cleaning- I love to clean. I always feel so much better after its done- and, dare I say it, I gain a lot of satisfaction out of taking a mess and putting it in order. It is also fun scarring Sami with the vacuum- everytime it comes out she is surprised how it turns on and makes so much noise :)

Then I decided to organize my closet by colors- well, one of my closets- I have 3...I know many people have always kept their closet coordinated by color, but it has never made much sense to me...sleeve length has always seemed logical- but alas, I have kept no order to my closets lately- as I primarily wear chef pants, white undershirt, and a coat....and pajamas :) so this is my new-and-improved closet...

Also, I worked on some pickling ideas for tomorrow at work- Ms. Waters and Mrs. Reichl helped :) I'll let you know how peppers *yes, just like Peter Piper who picked pickled peppers* and plums go tomorrow :)

Last, but certainly not least, I am wanting to add more black and white (possibly some grey) to my life- combining these four images...please feel free to give me any input in how to do this...

Green + Brown

Two of the basic colors of my days recently are brown/black and green...that's right, I'm planting a garden- I tried one last year, but didn't really give it the attention it needed and turned a blind eye to the dogs, who so love to run through the fresh soil.

This year is different- I planted the seeds in a make-shift greenhouse environment, watching them grow like weeds, and have been slowly transferring them to the ground as they get strong enough in the "greenhouse". I have watered the soil, enriched it with compost material, turned it, and watered it some more. Hopefully this year will be a fruitful garden...thus far I have planted radishes, cucumbers, green beans, squash mix, and chard- in the greenhouse it looks like the spinach and carrots are ready to go in the ground tonight. I've been planting in the evening because I think that the cool nights are easier for the roots that the hot days of summer that won't let go...

the best part of gardening...in the fall, at least...

My Daily Colors

The primary colors of my life are red, white, black, and yellow. My dog is white and black, and always wears her red collar- thus, she is always ready for a Georgia game. My clothes for work are always black and white- the colors of cleanliness. My sweet house is yellow, and holds all of the colors together.
I know most people believe that the primary colors are red, yellow and blue- and that all other colors derive from those three. I, however, believe that each person has their own set of primary colors. Hopefully through this blog y'all can see all of the colors of my life.
